“The Other Side of Reality”

Copper

6″ x 6″

Randy Covey crafts gleaming, elegant abstract sculptures out of bronze and copper. His sleek edges and minimalistic approach creates balance to the passion with which he creates his artwork.  Both masterful and thoroughly modern, his sculptures possess a purity that touches upon basic human emotions by means of a harmonious and sophisticated style. Bursting with vitality, his abstract oeuvre has startling, dynamic results where his lush, three dimensional forms have an incredible force of vision as they leap with a perpetually shifting choreographed balance. Applying his aesthetic to various mediums and shapes, he blends the precise, slender lines, resulting in minimalism with the more expressive, saturated and generous tones and proportions of Expressionist sculpture.
Utilizing empty space, such as the underside of a curving shape, his masterful work highlights the three-dimensionality of the sculpture and density of the medium.  The smooth texture of his sculptures convey to the viewer harmony by means of the polished surface, clean lines and refined compositions. Creating introspective works of art that examine the soul of the media, he reveals concepts and emotions that reflect the invisible within the visible.  His sculptures symbolize the confines and dimensions of our world as viewed through the revelation of carved lines, contours and volume. As he dismantles original forms, he streamlines his work into his own particular vision of contemporary language, transposing the beauty, social meaning, balance and proportions that compose our modern world.

“We are the World”
25.5” x 25.5”
Oil & Wood

Swiss artist, Beatrice Hanni paints evanescent organic expressionist compositions, transcending the requirements of everyday reality to create a world without time, without limits, and with endless space.  Created with oil on wood and acrylic glass, her semi-abstracted forms often incorporate figures which are both structurally spontaneous and explode into a powerful two-dimensionality. Drawing on influences from the many physical and metaphysical layers of existence found in the natural and man-made world, the catalyst for her art can be found in her challenging dichotomies of mediums, utilizing the solid and the void.  In compositions replete with intense colors and rich textures that metamorphose into lines and forms, she synthesizes the perfect aesthetic environment where color and movement crystallize to create entirely new semi-abstract vistas that invite the viewer to look beyond what is seen.

Her paintings such as “We Are The World” are visual poetry which capture the complexity of the human experience through the artist’s employment of beautiful color, dynamic lighting and vivid forms.  Integrating this together, Ms. Hanni creates a new artistic vision that illustrates an inner feeling of being drawn into another universe, a new dimension reflecting dynamic, swirling galaxies of the soul. Each work has its own strong gravitational pull, with different color choices and styles of application creating an incredible layering of contrasting forms that reach a powerful kind of harmony.  Her stunning painted universes expand constantly with expressionistic brushstrokes which dance atop the rolling color forms.
