Channeling her fascination with the animal into an emotional tableau, she creates a sense of intrigue and fantasy which transcends the distractions of everyday life. Guided by a sense of freedom, spontaneity and attention to process, Ms. Oudshoorn’s creative process explores a plethora of themes. With the intention of creating artworks that are both compelling and aesthetic, her goal is to express through color and images drawn from the subconscious and everyday experiences. Texture is a distinctive hallmark of her oeuvre as she creates layers of texturing and allows the forms to evolve. Inspired by many sources, her primary focus is nature and the elements and how they connect with human spirit.
