Dr. Dule’s colors twist and turn throughout the oversize canvases as his expanded primary color palette is filled with different shades, tints and values. Luscious color planes and labyrinthine brushwork envelop the viewer’s total perspective, creating an overwhelming visual field of dynamically juxtaposed forms. In “Icebreaker,” he dims his background palette to deep hues of oceanic blues and creates visual energy through warm highlights acting similarly to electric streaks of lighting flashing over an overcast seascape. Dr. J. Dule’s prolific career has spanned more than four decades.  His accomplishments include Inventor, Scientist, Mystery Playwright as well as highly acclaimed artist.  Studying at the Delaware Art Institute and the Art Students League of New York, as well as receiving a Ph.D. from Yale University, Dr. Dule began exploring various forms of artistic expression including painting, photography, and sculpture. He has participated in solo and group exhibitions across the country and boasts placements in private collections and public institutions. KAY GRIFFITH

Kay Griffith’s use of color and texture formally energize one’s relationship with the painting, in turn producing an emotional effect within the body. Her myriad palette employs an expanded field of saturated colors, almost too brilliant to be found in nature. Her aesthetic philosophy is inspired by the illumination of color, stating, “I was born with an intense curiosity about the world around me and sensitivity to color.” For Ms. Griffith, the spatial existences of her canvases are not composed through a geometric grid structure. Instead, the dynamic brushwork burgeons through color. Ms. Griffith’s interest in texture visually creates a dynamic relationship for the eye. By layering splatters, drips or even flinging specks of paint onto the canvas, texture expands the two-dimensional canvas and enters the space of the audience. Through texture, Ms. Griffith’s paintings command presence and elicit responses from its viewers. Ms. Griffith is interested in the extensive relations involved in a globalized society and her color-field, abstract canvases show that relationships with the actual world are dynamic, exciting and multifarious.

The award-winning artist Kay Griffith works and resides in Texas. Aside from her fine art career, she is also the owner of the successful Griffith Fine Art Gallery in Salado, TX. She studied color and design with Ethel Beitler, an abstract artist and book author, and oil painting with Larry Prellop and Dalhart Windberg. Ms. Griffith exhibits her artwork nationally throughout the United States, and her artwork is treasured in many public and private collections world-wide. R. BRUCE BRENNAN

R. Bruce Brennan captures the vitality and energy of nature’s glory, stating, “As an artist I try and portray the incarnation of something fantastic, luminous in the existential reality of the universe.” He is a world-traveler, and his wanderlust marshals him around the world to locations including Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Asia and Central America. His Expressionist oil on canvas creations are inspired by his memories of landscapes and seascapes once traveled. His sublime vistas are not exact replications but instead novel interpretations of nature influenced and driven by the unbridled imagination. Mr. Brennan’s series exhibits the wonderful world in all of its glory by capturing the luscious colors of every scene, from dawning suns and bright midday sights to midnight hued atmospheric sunsets. His dynamic paintings visually resemble the nature’s bounty but instead of defining exact places to his opulent creations, Mr. Brennan allows for viewers to personally interpret and place his scenes wherever the imagination sees fit, involving their own memories, thoughts and fantasies. FRANCES de COURCY MERCER

A native of South Florida, Ms. Mercer is inspired by the indigenous landscapes of the costal states’ outbacks encompassing luscious grass flat lands, subtropical wetlands, turbulent Atlantic Ocean beaches and the calm, coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Currently living in the compound and game preserve Indian Hammock, Ms. Mercer is afforded effervescent vistas and her watercolor paintings are consumed by warm Florida skies filled with voluminous clouds and gradient sunsets, creamy sandy beaches, forested panoramas and Everglade wetlands. The artist channels the sublime scenes that accompany her daily rendezvous throughout her hometown into her delicate watercolor paintings.

The cosmic energy of the natural world, overwhelming and infinite when physically present in its totalizing space is transformed into a compact impression of nature’s dynamism in Ms. Mercer’s intimate series. Circular forces circumnavigating central Moons and Suns in her designs symbolize the earth’s cyclical regenerative nature from birth through rejuvenation into expiration, only to allow new, youthful life to flourish in the deceased’s place. Just as Ms. Mercer’s home is an ever changing backdrop sampling the multiple landscapes nature has to offer, her beautiful creations equally channel the powerful cosmos of the environment, sampling the far reaches of world’s varying spaces in order to aesthetically present these dynamic energies in her intimate watercolors.

ZINAIDA LIHACHEVA

Zinaida Lihacheva uses abstraction as a ritualistic production meant to inform through a spiritual movement of paint in hand underlying psyche expressions most powerfully expressed through bodily action rather than through verbal communication. Ms. Lihacheva explains her art as a humanitarian act meant to existentially express contemporary society, stating, “Expressing the spiritual essence and initial natural harmony of a person, I create complex interactive art objects.” A masterful artist working in multiple mediums including painting, sculpture and installation, her current oil on canvas series brilliantly stimulates the eye through her saturated color palette filled with primary hues of lemon yellows, cerulean blues and fiery reds, enhanced equally through brilliant highlights of pristine white streaks and juxtaposing planes of midnight black that dart across the reaches of the composition.

Her spectral palette ranges from deep cool hues to fiery warm highlights, and together with her multifaceted brushwork ranging from long swooping streams to rapid thin strokes creates a momentous canvas bursting with active energy. The gracious application of densely rich oil paint builds structural layers atop the flat canvas, exciting viewers with luminescent forms mesmerizingly soaring through the background plane. She titles her art with poetic expressions, allowing viewers to playfully conclude the aspirations and symbolic anecdotes independently by engaging with her voluminous canvases. NATASA MENART

Ms. Menart defines art as a portal stimulating our emotions and imagination, stating, “Art is a state of escape and rescue, it is a way of love and ecstasy, it is timelessness that you love, and it is a way to say all this.” Ms. Menart’s compositions elegantly combine Edgar Degas inspired fin-de-siècle entertainment fair with surreal fantasy, ultimately creating whimsical scenarios where a lovely female star gallivants through the reaches of an artistic imagination. A dark haired heroine with lusciously full deep ebony curls, doll-like dreamy eyes and a model-esque melancholy pout is the star of Ms. Menart’s current series.

Her abstraction flattens the scenes into a single picture-plane, disregarding linear perspective and atmospheric backgrounds so viewers are able to fully enjoy the main events exploding throughout the foreground. Ms. Menart mixes reality with imagination and probable scenarios like “Marriage” are parodied through the impossible feat of flying, as if once wedded in holy matrimony the imagination is able to take over and whisk blissful couples into a dreamscape illuminated by a stellar sky. Ms. Menart provokes viewers to individually create adventurous narratives aided by our wildest imaginations for her wonderfully fanciful paintings.
